Forza Horizon 6 Wishlist: Why the 1993 Schuppan 962CR Needs

Messagepar SilverSprout » Hier, 02:15

If you spend any time browsing racing forums or checking out community wishlists, you will constantly see players begging for the return of obscure, forgotten hypercars. For a long time, the 1993 Schuppan 962CR was right at the top of those lists. Built as an incredibly rare, road-legal tribute to Porsche’s Le Mans dominance by race driver Vern Schuppan, it is the definition of automotive exotica.

But if you are about to write up another wishlist post demanding its inclusion in Forza Horizon 6, you can officially hit delete. The Schuppan 962CR does not need to return to our wishlists because it is already here. It officially debuted in Forza Horizon 6 as a highly sought-after reward car, and it has quickly established itself as one of the most unique, dominant, and slightly broken additions to the Horizon Festival’s lineup.

Why the Schuppan 962CR is a Forza Masterpiece
Forza games thrive on giving us cars we will likely never see in real life, and the Schuppan fits that bill perfectly. Only four units still survive in the real world today, making its digital incarnation a massive win for automotive preservation and virtual car culture.

But it isn't just a museum piece; it is an absolute weapon in S1 class.

Insane Performance: Right out of the box, it packs a twin-turbo 3.3-liter flat-six engine pushing 600 bhp. Once you start upgrading it, it can easily fly past 230 mph (over 440 km/h).

Ultra-Lightweight Carbon Build: Because the real car was built on a full carbon-fiber body by Reynard Motorsport, its weight is incredibly low. In its stock configuration, it rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

The Off-Road PR Stunt Meta: Here is where the Horizon community did what it does best: broke the game's logic. Despite this car having pure Le Mans asphalt heritage, players quickly discovered that if you lift the suspension and throw on off-road tires, it becomes insanely overpowered for Off-Road PR stunts. It is currently destroying leaderboards on Danger Signs and Trailblazers, absorbing rough terrain like a trophy truck while maintaining the speed of a Group C racer.

Current Status: How to Get One and the Bugs to Watch Out For
If you didn’t get one during the early weeks of the game, you cannot just head over to the Autoshow with a pile of credits and buy it. It is a locked exclusive.

The car was officially introduced via the Series 2 "Horizon Decades" Festival Playlist. To unlock it, players had to grind out 40 PTS during the Autumn Season or complete specific Seasonal Championships like "Trail Mix." Because of these Autoshow restrictions, if you missed that specific playlist window, your only option right now is to camp out in the Auction House and hope someone lists one, though you should expect to pay a premium.

That said, ownership hasn't been entirely smooth sailing. The car launched with some pretty notable server-side glitches that the community has been actively documenting. There are widespread reports of Rivals times failing to upload when using the Schuppan, and a frustrating bug where custom liveries or tuning setups occasionally fail to share. Worse yet, some players have experienced temporary game save anxieties when the game hangs while saving a Schuppan setup.

The good news is that Playground Games is aware of these tracking issues and is actively working on a future patch to stabilize the car's data.

Ultimately, the Schuppan 962CR is exactly the kind of car that makes the Horizon series great. It took a legendary, ultra-rare slice of motorsport history, dropped it into a beautiful open world, and let the community turn it into a dirt-slinging, hill-jumping monster. It’s safe to say this one will be a garage favorite for a long time to come.
